Primera Edicion is a Venezuelan band, originally formed in Caracas. The band consists of: Leo Borges (bass), Ricardo Sosa (voice & guitar), and Enrique Marquez ( guitar & synthesizers ). They started their music career together in 2001.

 

  • In 2003, 1ra Edición is internationally recognized as having won “Intercolegial de la Fundacion Nuevas Bandas”
  • In 2004, the band has made part of a compilation album with a track called “Alguna Vez” released by Platano Verde, which is a prestigious Venezuelan magazine. At that time, the band won a nationwide battle of the bands contest sponsored by Puma TV.
  • As of 2007, Primera Edicion was one of the chosen bands to perform at the Urbe awards.
  • In 2008, they released their first official album ‘Es Tiempo de Actuar’. The album was received with impressive and positive reviews and their single “Creeme” has achieved the most successful results and made it to number one on Mega 107.3 FM for 12 weeks consecutively.
  • In the summer of 2008, the band went on tour nationally for their first album release.
  • In 2009, Primera Edicion signed with Ingenious Records and were on the Grammy’s entry ballot as a best rock/alternative album candidate in the Grammy awards for their album, ‘Es Tiempo de Actuar’.
  • The band then coupled with a band called ‘World Sound Banky’ to produce a new album (Edicion Especial) which included three new tracks from their previous album. The band is now ready to release their second album worldwide.
  • By the fall of 2011, Primera Edicion will be the first Venezuelan band to be sponsored by well-known brands like Vans, Fender, Gretsch, Bad Cat Amps and Trailer Trash Pedalboards.Their second album set to be released in 2011 is called ‘1986’, which according to the band is going to show a growth musically from them.
  • There is also an upcoming album tour called ‘Ochoseis” to be expected in the fall visiting major cities in Venezuela.
